Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHCT) Community Podiatry Services are seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and focused qualified Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registered Specialist Podiatrist to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate abnormalities and diseases related to the foot and lower limb across all age groups.
2. Provide treatment for high-risk patient groups such as the elderly and those with increased risk of amputation.
3. Deliver specialist care to maintain mobility, independence, and tissue viability, and to relieve discomfort, especially in patients with diabetes, circulatory disorders, neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, and biomechanical pathologies.
4. Support team members and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
5. Deliver evidence-based podiatry services in clinics, GP surgeries, hospitals, patient homes, and nursing homes within the Central locality area.
6. Work autonomously and integrate into multidisciplinary teams, providing professional advice to patients, carers, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
Candidate Profile
* Registered with HCPC as a Podiatrist.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to develop through the department’s band 5 competency programme.
Additional Information
This is a full-time position, but candidates seeking to work 3 days or more will also be considered. The department offers a supportive environment with opportunities for professional development. The post covers the Central locality area, including hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck, Hexham, and other community facilities.
