Asia House is an independent think tank and advisory service. We work with companies and governments in Asia, the Middle East and Europe, facilitating high-level dialogue, providing business and market intelligence, and driving commercial outcomes.
Situated in a Georgian townhouse in central London, Asia House also runs a thriving Venue Hire business. TheGrade II listed building, which includes three grand Fine Rooms, library and a museum standard Gallery, is made available to clients for functions ranging from conferences to receptions.
Asia House is looking for a motivated Event Sales Manager to work in the Venue Hire department. The successful candidate will be expected to build the Venue Hire business alongside the Director ofEvents.
This is a hands-on role. The Event Sales Manager will be expected to pitch in to ensure the smooth running of events. This means everything from re-organising chairs to greeting guests and preparingand serving drinks if required.
The Event Sales Manager needs to be prepared to work flexible hours. The role will include morning,evening and weekend work as required. When not actively managing an event, the successfulcandidate will be focused on selling the available space and expanding our client base.
Main responsibilities
* Drive new business through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship-building
* Manage incoming event enquiries from initial contact through to confirmed booking
* Prepare and send detailed proposals and contracts
* Lead the end-to-end event process, ensuring timelines are met and events run smoothly
* Conduct client show rounds and meetings, ensuring accurate capture and communication of
* requirements
* Maintain regular contact with clients to retain and grow existing accounts
* Manage contracts and invoices related to events
* Produce detailed proposals and event schedules
* Track and report on sales activity, pipeline, and conversion rates
* Asia House is an independent think tank and advisory service.
* Contribute to promotional campaigns and development of packages
* Manage the events budget and record revenue accurately
* Support team members and collaborate across departments as required
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in event management and sales
* Strong client handling, negotiation, and closing skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionallyat all levels
* Team player with a proactive, hands-on approach
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
* Results-driven mindset with a positive attitude
* Knowledge of the events industry in London.
* Experience working with both B2B and B2C clients.
* Existing network of contacts in the corporate and event planning sectors.
