# Interim Audit & Quality Project Lead* CV-Library* North Shields, North TynesideTemporary Charity### Job DescriptionAge UK North Tyneside Group is seeking an experienced consultant to lead a programme of internal audits across the organisation, including CQC-regulated care and housing services.The role will focus on delivering audits across key risk areas, providing assurance and identifying improvements, before supporting the development of a sustainable Quality Assurance and Internal Audit Framework.Details:Location: Hybrid / Head Office (North Tyneside)Contract: Fixed Term – 6 to 9 Months (Flexible)Days: 2–3 Days per Week (Consultancy Basis – Negotiable)Rate: Competitive Day RateKey Responsibilities1.Design and deliver a risk-based internal audit programme2.Undertake audits across care, housing, HR/people and operational controls3.Produce concise reports with clear, actionable recommendations4.Establish processes for tracking actions and improvementsCompliance Assurance and Baseline1.Map regulatory requirements (CQC, RSH) and internal processes2.Identify gaps, risks and duplication3.Provide an initial assurance position to the Executive TeamTools and Audit Infrastructure1.Develop practical audit templates, reporting formats and tools2.Support use of digital compliance systems within audit activityProcess and Efficiency Review1.Review SOPs, quality processes, incidents and documentation2.Identify opportunities to improve consistency, reduce duplication and strengthen controlsFuture Framework Development (Secondary Phase)1.Support development of a longer-term Quality Assurance & Internal Audit Framework2.Establish audit schedules, reporting structures and compliance oversightStakeholder Engagement & Reporting1.Work with service managers and operational teams to deliver audits2.Provide clear updates and insights to the Executive TeamKey Deliverables1.Delivery of the internal audit programme and priority audits2.Clear audit reports with actionable recommendations3.Baseline position on compliance and assurance4.Practical tools and frameworks to support ongoing improvementRequirementsEssential:1.Experience in internal audit, quality assurance or compliance within relevant sectors2.Strong knowledge of CQC and RSH standards3.Proven audit delivery experience4.Strong analytical and communication skillsDesirable1.Experience with recognised quality standards (e.g. ISO9001, CHAS)2.Experience developing audit or quality frameworks3.Knowledge of the voluntary or community sector
