Position Overview
We are currently looking for a Boilermaker/Fabricator III to join our team at our York, PA facility. We are a tight-knit group that takes pride in our work. If you are detail-oriented, hardworking, and seeking a stable environment, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
* Set up fabrication components, lay out, and grind parts to develop shapes.
* Use drawings from engineering to layout and assemble flat and formed plate components.
* Fabricate high-quality parts using various raw materials and tools according to specifications.
* Cut, grind, weld, and form parts to complete assemblies.
Classifications
* Proficient: Must possess qualifications, skills, and experience of the previous classification.
* Proficient: Fully proficient in blueprint reading, excluding geometric tolerancing.
* Competent: Able to design and build supporting tooling, assemble complex runners, distributor assemblies, shaft to runner installations, Kaplan turbines, and pumps.
* Competent: Able to perform vent checks and train others.
* Competent: Able to generate and implement Lean continuous improvement ideas.
* Operate all cranes and lifts of any size and complexity.
Accountabilities
* Layout and assemble flat and formed plate components from engineering drawings.
* Perform plasma or thermal cutting, grinding, and tack welding to join parts.
* Assemble finished machined parts for fit and further machining.
* Maintain quality, productivity, job knowledge, safety, attendance, communication, and cooperation.
Essential Functions
* Read and record measurements with micrometers, calipers, and related instruments.
* Assemble finished parts for fit and further machining; perform tack welding as needed.
* Interpret instructions, prints, and work orders accurately.
* Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
* Communicate issues regarding workpieces, schedules, or safety to supervisors.
* Paint equipment and parts as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Work well independently and with others.
* Adhere to quality, safety, and health guidelines.
* Complete tasks timely with strong initiative.
* Communicate effectively.
* Proficient in blueprint reading and assembling complex components such as pumps, distributor assemblies, and shaft to runner installations.
* Operate cranes and perform all lifts regardless of size and complexity.
* Generate and implement Lean improvement ideas.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
* Completion of an accredited program; six years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications
* None required.
Work Environment & Conditions
* Indoor environment with long periods of standing and sitting.
* Exposure to loud noises, plasma or thermal cutting, heavy manual lifting, rigging, and crane operation.
Shift
2nd Shift: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm
