Job Title: Assistant Manager

Reporting To: Shop Manager

Role Purpose And Key Responsibilities
Role Purpose
You will be responsible and account for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager. This includes operating and running the shop, managing the shop team effectively, and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the day. You will accept and pay out bets, deliver excellent customer service, open and close the business, and manage day‑to‑day operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Shop Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the shop and the shop team.
* In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead from the front in managing the operation and running of the shop and the shop team, including responsibility for:
o Opening and closing the shop
o Managing and guiding the shop team
o Cash management procedures
o Managing and utilizing the company Time and Attendance system and ensuring adherence by the shop team.
o Leading by example and driving your team to maintain shop presentation standards.
o Be a clear communicator by encouraging colleagues to share ideas for improvement.
o Stay focused on shop results to identify opportunities and get the team working to high standards.
o Provide outstanding customer experience for customers.
o Educate and guide the team to deliver excellent customer service.
o Accept bets as per procedure, accurately taking and processing customer bets through multiple channels, including betting terminals and in‑shop transactions via the EPOS system, in a timely manner.
o Act as a Brand Ambassador, introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journey.
o Ensure shop adherence to all operational procedures, including cash management and security procedures.
o Adhere to Social Responsibility duties.

Desirable Skills And Experience
* 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor Retail experience.
* Industry experience is welcomed but not essential, as full training is provided to expand your knowledge base on all things sport and betting related.
