This is a fantastic opportunity for a Court of Protection Solicitor to join a friendly, specialist Court of Protection team supporting older and vulnerable clients, based in Cheltenham on a hybrid basis. This Court of Protection team is recognised by Chambers and Legal 500.
You’ll be part of a group of compassionate Court of Protection lawyers who advise and protect individuals and families dealing with injuries, dementia, learning disabilities and mental health issues.
What you’ll do
* Manage a busy and rewarding Court of Protection caseload.
* Handle financial deputyship matters.
* Prepare applications for deputyships, statutory wills and gifting.
* Meet clients in care and in the community.
* Liaise with carers, care homes, and other professionals.
* Oversee finances, benefits, and care arrangements for vulnerable clients.
* Draft wills and lasting powers of attorney.
What we are looking for
* Atleast 3 years' experience in Court of Protection.
* Solid understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Care Act 2014.
* A genuine passion for protecting vulnerable adults, alongside excellent communication skills with empathy and professionalism.
* Confident managing your own caseload and mentoring junior colleagues.
