Casual/relief opportunities for caring, enthusiastic and self-motivated female Support Workers to join our support team in Drumoyne, Glasgow. You will be required to work in a flexible and customer-led manner that meets the needs and preferences of people we support, enabling them to live the life they choose. This role is supporting two individuals who share their home in the Govan area of Glasgow. The people we support have learning disabilities and physical health issues; two are non-verbal and communicate using other methods. They enjoy activities such as going out, shopping, swimming, musicals, dancing and exploring their local area.
Shift patterns are days, evenings and sleepovers; there is a requirement for some weekend work and flexibility due to a 24-hour support team.
Responsibilities
* Support with medication administration
* Cooking and assisting with personal care
* Assisting with moving, positioning and attending hospital appointments
* Maintain the homes of people supported and help manage their finances
* Spend time with the person you support, supporting their daily activities and interests
* Participate in a variety of activities in the community as part of a person-centered plan
Qualifications & Requirements
* Patience, empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
* A strong work ethic, reliability and honesty
* Problem solving, resilience and the ability to work as part of a diverse team
* Willingness to learn and develop in a social care environment
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleepovers
* Due to the role, a Female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010
