Role description
Our graduate GROW programme is a structured 3-year programme designed to help you evolve and develop skills to become an experienced professional in your chosen field. You’ll benefit from training and development, mentoring, and assistance for accreditations relevant to your programme, as well as support to develop and succeed. As a GROW graduate you will be empowered to drive your career and will be exposed to a variety of experiences to gain the skills you require to succeed.
As a specialist and science graduate joining GROW you will specialise from day one in your chosen discipline. Working in teams of consultants you’ll be responsible for your own deliverables, liaising with clients, and will be given every opportunity to build your skillsets and technical expertise. You’ll work on a range of environmental and planning projects which may include major infrastructure, urban regeneration and community-focused projects that will expose you to a variety of challenges and technical specialists.
Role accountabilities
Ground Investigation – As part of the Ground Investigation Contracting discipline within our Site Evaluation and Restoration team you will undertake site-based ground investigations to collect data on ground conditions to support a wide range of property and infrastructure development schemes.
As early as possible, you will be on site shadowing experienced engineers, progressing to supervising your own ground investigations or acting as part of a team on larger projects. You will be supported to obtain relevant safety qualifications and undertake soil and rock logging training under the guidance of our geologists. You will also produce reports, Health and Safety documentation, and develop an understanding of the commercial and project planning aspects of ground investigation practice.
Qualifications & Experience
* Accepted degrees: BSc in Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Geoscience, Environmental Science, Physical Geography or similar.
* You will be graduating in 2026 or have recently graduated with at least a 2:2 in a relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree.
* Demonstrate Arcadian skills such as resilience, creativity, analytical thinking and being a team player.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to use technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
* Willing and able to travel frequently and stay away from home as required. A significant portion of your time will involve site work, which may require extended periods away from your home office.
* Hold a full driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK.
