We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and dedicated Imaging assistant to join the Imaging team at St Mary's Hospital. The successful applicant will be required to assist Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiologists to help deliver a high quality patient focused service.
They should have good communication skills, as both telephone and face to face patient contact is continuously required. They should be able to work as part of a team, with good listening skills and an ability to follow direction and protocol in a busy and ever changing working environment. They will also be expected to chaperone during intimate examinations, in particular when performing transvaginal ultrasound scans for female patients.
As a Band 3 Modality Assistant, you will have the responsibility to supervise other Band 2 Modality Assistants, take part in rota and also handle other senior duties. Some experience in a clinical environment and with patient care is essential, however further dedicated training for the specific role will be provided to the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
• To assist and support the professional staff within the Imaging Directorate maintaining a high standard of patient care by carrying out assigned tasks.
• Provide an efficient and reliable system for throughput of patients ensuring the activity and needs of the unit are achieved.
• Co-ordinate the imaging assistant team on a day to day basis
• Assist with clerical needs of the unit.
