At Saint Catherine's, we believe that excellent care begins with a compassionate and skilled team. As we expand our services – including the launch of our new Respite Care provision – we are looking to recruit committed and caring Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a values-led organisation delivering specialist palliative and end-of-life care to patients across Scarborough and the surrounding areas. Whether you're experienced or new to the care sector, if you are passionate about providing outstanding person-centred care, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Healthcare Assistant at Saint Catherine's, you will work under the guidance of registered nurses to deliver hands-on care and support to patients and their families. You will play a crucial role in ensuring patients feel safe, comfortable, and respected at all times.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

* Supporting patients with personal care and daily living tasks
* Assisting with mobility, nutrition, hydration, and comfort measures
* Observing and accurately reporting changes in a patient's condition
* Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families
* Supporting the delivery of our respite care services, giving carers vital time to rest
* Working closely with nurses, doctors, therapists, and volunteers as part of a highly collaborative team
* You may work within our Inpatient Unit and have opportunities to support services in the community, depending on your experience and interests.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for individuals who are:

* Kind, compassionate, and committed to delivering high-quality care
* Excellent communicators, with strong interpersonal skills and empathy
* Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Reliable, flexible, and responsive to the needs of patients and their families
* Willing to learn and committed to professional development
* Previous experience in a healthcare, care home, or hospice setting is desirable but not essential – full training and induction will be provided for the right candidates.

We also welcome applications from those with experience in caring for individuals with frailty, long-term conditions, dementia, or complex needs.

What We Offer

Every member of staff plays a vital part in delivering compassionate care and support to patients and their families during some of the most important times of their lives. * Flexible working patterns (full-time, part-time, and job share options)
* Ongoing clinical education and development opportunities
* A supportive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment
* The opportunity to be involved in shaping new services that directly support patients and carers
