Description
As the Materials Planner you will be responsible for:
* Developing an effective material planning strategy to ensure optimal stock levels.
* Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
* Liaising with internal departments to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
* Implementing measures to minimise material wastage and surplus.
* Maintaining accurate records of material supplies, orders, and costs.
* Addressing any issues or discrepancies in material supplies promptly and efficiently.
* Regularly reviewing market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations in all material handling processes.
Profile
The successful Materials Planner should have:
* Previously worked in a similar planning position within manufacturing - ESSENTIAL
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - ESSENTIAL
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities - ESSENTIAL
* Proficiency in supply chain software and MS Office Suite - ESSENTIAL
* The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment - ESSENTIAL
* A degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field - DESIRABLE
