We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate with expertise in Health and Safety Regulatory law to join our award-winning, Tier 1 ranked Regulatory, Inquiries and Investigations team to represent our clients across a broad range of intriguing and often high-profile cases, meaning you will be at the forefront of some of the most sought after cases in our industry.
The successful candidate will manage an exciting portfolio of cases for local government, insurers and corporates offering the chance for a mixed portfolio of work from all business sectors and sizes.

The role is ideally suited to candidates based in one of our regional offices, including Manchester, Birmingham or Leeds, with a flexible, hybrid working approach where needed.
Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice on health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Support on a range of investigations including serious incidents, workplace fatalities and corporate manslaughter.
* Defend clients facing investigation and criminal prosecution by regulatory bodies.
* Draft and review legal documents, including witness statements, investigation reports, and written submissions.
* Liaise with clients, regulators, and experts to gather information and evidence.
* Attend client premises, police stations and court hearings as required.
* Deal with Coronial proceedings.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Essential
* Qualified solicitor with experience working in a regulatory team.
* Relevant experience in regulatory and/or criminal health and safety law.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
* Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and efficiently.
* Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.
* High level of professionalism and integrity.
* Experience in transport law, environmental law or public inquiries would also be of interest.
* Experience working for regulators, local authorities or with insurers would be considered in lieu of experience working in a regulatory team.
