Position: Traffic Management Permit Co-Ordinator
Location: Stanley House, Medway city estate, Rochester, Kent, me24nf
Line Reporting Manager: Operations Manager
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm, 1hour unpaid lunch
Salary: £32,000 Annually
Principle Duties and Accountabilities:
The Traffic Management Permit Co-Ordinator responsibilities are to ensure that all MTS work involving Traffic Management is correctly permitted and managed in accordance with all current legislation. This will be for all Clean Rivers and Seas works delivering full compliance with the clients standards.
Role Description:
The raising of Road Traffic Permits (Prepare, submit and track applications) for MTS work within Southern Water clean rivers and seas project. This will cover both Planned and Reactive work.
The closing of Road Traffic Permits and confirmation that the site is cleared.
Ensure all necessary documents and information are included in the permit applications.
Maintain accurate records of all permit applications, approvals and related documentation.
Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during permitting process
Work proactively to prevent and ease potential permit related issues
Work closely with the Operations team and Traffic Management Partners regarding the permit status and any potential delays.
Remain compliant and informed with permit regulations.
Establish sound work relationships with local councils to help with the smooth permitting process.
Ensure all work programs are correct and updated throughout the job.
Report all accidents and incidents in the appropriate manner. Conduct interviews and complete reports accordingly.
Establish and implement a regular site audit pattern / measurement process.
Attend regular Traffic Management meetings with the Senior Contracts Manager to address potential performance issues.
Ensure all works have been quoted for and charged onto the client appropriately
Performance measures
Delivery of work in accordance with output targets and or response times / dates
Delivery of accurate and timely data to all stakeholders
Health and Safety:
Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) states the general duties of employees at work
It shall be the duty of every employee while at work to:
(a) To take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work; and
(b) as regards any duty or requirement imposed on their employer or any other person by or under any of the relevant statutory provisions, to co-operate with them so far as is necessary to enable that duty or requirement to be performed or complied with
Traffic Management Permit Co-Ordinator responsibilities are:
To understand and comply with the company health and safety policy
To influence and promote a positive health, safety culture within the organisation and lead by example
To ensure all works activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with legislative, company requirements and the risk assessments
To ensure housekeeping of the works and welfare areas are fully maintained
To carry out comprehensively and complete in full, all company required documentation
To report all health, safety and environmental incidents to the Line Manager within 2 hours of it happening
To ensure awareness of the company fire and first aid arrangements, and emergency evacuation procedure
Qualifications / Competency:
Knowledge and experience of Traffic Management and Permitting essential
Highly organised with self-initiative and good time management skills
Must have the ability to prioritise workload, effectively managing multiple tasks.
Proficient using Microsoft Office systems including Word and Excel
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
