Overview
Are you a current registered healthcare practitioner with significant post registration experience in an acute setting (5 years or more)? Opportunities have become available to join our growing team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) based within the Hospital Out of Hours (HOOH) team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB). This role is currently based within the HOOH team at the Royal Derby Hospital.
Advanced clinical practice is well established at UHDB and is integral to delivering high quality, safe patient care across the Trust. You would join a progressive team with a leadership structure to support ACPs. The role offers autonomous practice with the reassurance of a senior clinician-led team for support and guidance when needed.
There are two pathways depending on your current status: (i) qualified ACP, who will demonstrate the required characteristics and portfolio evidence, including an observed period of clinical practice; (ii) trainee ACP, who will be supported through academic and clinical training pathways to achieve UHDB qualified ACP status. For most trainees, progression is via the Level 7 apprenticeship in advanced clinical practice with evidence of Level 2 Maths and English.
Closing date of applications: 22 September 2025
Interview date: 06 October 2025
As a trusted organisation at the heart of our communities, UHDB supports public health, patients, our staff and local partners in achieving the best of health by providing Exceptional Care Together. Our values are Compassion, Openness and Excellence, which underpin how we work.
