We are looking for a qualified Teacher of the Deaf to support deaf children and young people in non-specialist settings in Derby City during the Autumn Term (September 2025 to December 2025). This is a short-term cover for one term, covering maternity leave and while recruiting a permanent teacher following a resignation.
The successful candidate will be experienced in equipment checks and functional listening assessments and will work as part of the support service for Hearing Impaired children in the Specialist Teaching and Psychology Service (STePS). We are a small, motivated, friendly, and professional team that supports children and young people aged 0-19. We collaborate closely with audiology, speech and language therapy, and other multidisciplinary teams, focusing on providing high-quality, timely support to children, young people, and their families.
Applicants must be able to carry out in-person visits to schools and early years settings in Derby and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
