Roles that require PVG Membership:
Please note that from 1 April 2023, candidates applying for roles requiring PVG membership will need to cover the cost. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 or above, including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour).
The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership cost—either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members—and this amount will be deducted from the employee’s first full month’s salary.
Job purpose/about the role:
Promote adult learning opportunities to individuals and communities.
Assess the learning needs of individuals and groups.
Enhance literacy, numeracy, ICT, and English language skills of participants in adult learning programmes.
Minimum requirements for the post:
* PVG Membership for Regulated Work with Protected Adults or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment.
Demonstrable skills and qualities:
* Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with adult learners.
* Clear and effective communication skills with adult learners.
* Creativity and initiative.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to collaborate with various organisations.
* Support for individuals facing barriers to learning.
* IT skills for record keeping and reporting.
* Flexibility and adaptability in approaches and styles for different individuals and groups.
