We currently have an opening for a Wastewater Environmental Protection (Chemical Dosing) Technician to join our team across Devon. Based in Exeter, this is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary of £27,000 - £41,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role:
As our Environmental Protection Technician, you will support our operations by safeguarding and optimizing chemical dosing installations. You will visit sites within your area, adjust dosing to ensure compliance and protect against over-dosing, monitor pH levels, review chemical use, and maintain equipment to ensure data accuracy.
What you'll be doing:
* Visit chemical dosing sites across your area (vehicle provided)
* Report on chemical use and efficiencies
* Coordinate with local teams on dosing adjustments
* Analyze chemical consumption trends
* Inspect and maintain dosing assets
* Investigate breaches of phosphate/metal parameters
* Assist with risk assessments for non-routine work
* Check online monitoring equipment and report faults
* Monitor wastewater quality and report results
* Maintain operational equipment for audit purposes
* Address site issues as they arise
What we are looking for:
* At least 5 GCSEs A-C, including Maths, English, and Science
* Experience in a scientific or operational environment (preferred)
* Valid driving license
* Understanding of chemical dosing and phosphate removal
* Team player
* Passion for environmental protection
