Housebuilding has always been a challenging industry. Pressures on land and space, empathy with environmental impact, technical innovations and financial pressures – none of these are new, yet today they are more visible, more sensitive and more important than ever.
As one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, we need an outstanding Layout Designer (Masterplanner) to join our Masterplanning team, to keep us at the cutting edge of design, construction and delivery of new homes developments for today – and for the future.
The successful candidate will produce ideas and design proposals for residential developments that are both commercially viable and meet national and local standards – without compromising Bloor Homes’ strong commitment to traditional quality and state-of-the-art design.
As a successful, family-owned company, we put great emphasis on looking after our people – so that they will value their work for us. If you think we should meet – we want to hear from you.
In the same way that we pride ourselves on building communities, not just houses, we work closely as teams, rather than just individuals. Our Masterplanner will work with teams in our Group Design and Technical Department as well as our Regional Design and Technical Teams. Liaison with other disciplines, including Sales and Marketing, Group Procurement and IT, is key to performance in this crucial senior role.
The successful candidate will have outstanding design skills, and produce hand drawn and finished planning layouts, following discussion and briefing from all relevant stakeholders. Presentation skills and handling of queries must be excellent, while promoting Bloor Homes’ brand of urban design to internal and external parties. Previous experience in this or a similar role in residential housing developments is essential, as are HNC/D-level qualifications and a full UK driving licence. You must be a first class communicator, people and project manager and all-round teamworker.
In return you can expect a superb remuneration package, and the opportunity to build a fulfilling and long-term career in a friendly, hardworking, successful business environment
