Starting salary for this role is £34,434 (pro rata for part-time colleagues). The role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. Job Overview
We are seeking an Animal Licensing and Dog Control Officer to join our friendly team. The post holder will protect public safety and promote animal welfare through the effective enforcement of animal‑related legislation. The role includes leading animal licensing inspections, dog control and stray dog functions, investigating complaints, and taking appropriate and proportionate enforcement action in relation to animal welfare, dangerous dogs and nuisance issues.
Enforcement activity will focus on complex reactive and proactive casework, requiring sound professional judgement, interpretation of legislation and guidance, and involvement in formal legal enforcement processes, including the preparation of cases for prosecution and court proceedings.
