Operations Manager - Waste Management / Recycling Facility
Salary: £60k - £65k + Car allowance £6k, Pension
Location: South Yorkshire
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of a busy waste management or recycling facility.
* Overseeing the intake, processing, and dispatch of waste materials
* Ensuring all plant and equipment are properly maintained and operational
* Maintaining compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality standards
* Managing, motivating, and developing a team of production staff
* Supporting commercial activities and contributing to overall business performance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Proven experience managing a waste processing or recycling site (although not essential)
* A background working with materials such as biomass, wood waste, scrap metal, plastics, construction/demolition waste, composting, landfill, aggregates, anaerobic digestion, MRF/MBT operations, or other heavy industry
Desirable:
* A relevant qualification such as COTC/WAMITAB (training can be provided if required)
* NEBOSH or IOSH certification
* A full UK driving licence
