This is an exciting time to be part of the team within a large, established facility. We have two roles available: one more senior and one more junior, allowing us to consider candidates at different levels.

Location: Commutable from Standish, Chorley, Wigan, Leigh, Bolton, Skelmersdale, Horwich, St Helens, Ormskirk, Middlebrook, and Makerfield.

Responsibilities:
* Supporting compliance with DSEAR and COMAH UK regulations
* Developing and implementing process safety strategies to meet regulatory and operational requirements
* Delivering technical safety/process engineering solutions supporting business objectives
* Leading and participating in process safety assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL studies, generating reports, and managing follow-up actions
* Improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
* Enhancing cell layouts and applying lean methodologies
* Conducting hazardous area classifications following industry standards
* Developing and implementing Functional Safety Management Plans
* Reviewing and producing safety engineering deliverables, including HSE plans and safety specifications
* Providing technical input for design assurance reviews like P&ID reviews and constructability assessments
* Ensuring compliance with industry codes, regulations, and best practices in process safety and environmental engineering
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemistry
* Right to work in the UK
* Strong understanding of process safety principles and risk management
* Experience with process safety methodologies, design practices, and regulatory compliance
* Knowledge of H&S environmental legislation
* Familiarity with FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and plant start-up processes
* Experience with HAZOP, LOPA, and related methodologies
* Strong focus on continuous improvement
