The Cove is a specialist provision within Dunbar Primary School. Children who attend The Cove have a range of learning and communication needs associated with intellectual disability, autism and other related conditions. We have high expectations for learning and teaching and are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated classroom teacher with a passion for leading learning. Experience of working with children with a range of complex needs is essential.
Job Details
To undertake class-teaching duties:
To teach assigned ASN classes alongside associated planning, preparation, assessment and reporting.
Developing the curriculum; using Curriculum for Excellence, ELC Curricular Frameworks and Ed Scot. Milestones (to support learners with complex additional support needs) as appropriate.
Developing IEP’s and CSP’s for pupils in collaboration with other agencies.
Assessing, recording and reporting on the work and progress of pupils.
Providing advice and guidance to pupils and families on issues related to their education and development.
Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other agencies.
Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievements, termly monitoring and tracking of all pupils and individual Child Planning meetings and CSP’s.
Prioritising outdoor and active engagement in learning and the wider needs of the school.
Promoting the development of a total communication environment.
