A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Safety and Reliability Engineer to join a specialist engineering department to influence technically sophisticated and high integrity products.
This role performs the duties of the position and reports to the senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting systems from concept through to delivery by shaping safety and reliability evidence to meet customer expectations.
* Balancing time, cost and technical constraints to produce robust safety cases and reliability cases.
* Conducting and contributing to hazard analysis, safety evaluations and progressive reliability assurance activities.
* Ensuring safety assurance is optimised while recognising the inherently lethal attributes of complex defence technology.
* Developing and maintaining effective reliability programmes, including planning, analysis and verification activities.
* Collaborating within a multi disciplinary team and working directly with military partners.
* Gaining broad exposure to varied and international projects, contributing to a strong safety and reliability culture.
The ideal candidate would have:
* Experience delivering safety case reports, hazard analysis, functional failure analysis, FTA, FMECA and reliability prediction.
* Understanding of how safety and reliability activities integrate into broader systems engineering processes.
* Knowledge of complex electronic systems and their associated safety and reliability considerations.
* Proven ability to influence cross functional teams and collaborate across multi national groups.
* Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
* Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
The ideal candidate must have:
* A detailed understanding of hazard analysis and safety evaluation within the systems engineering lifecycle.
* Experience in the application of UK and international system engineering processes.
* Clear appreciation that reliability is more than numerical outputs, supported by demonstrable planning, analysis and testing experience.
