The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency is seeking a Medical Assessor to join the Innovative Medicines Function within the Healthcare Quality and Access.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis, based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London, E14 4PU. We are open to requests for flexible working.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will assess the clinical and regulatory aspects of marketing authorisation applications and paediatric requirements for chemical or biological products. They will develop and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders and contribute to assessment policy and practice.
Job responsibilities
The Medical Assessor will be required to:
* Assess clinical data provided in marketing authorisation initial and variation applications
* Manage own workload and meet agreed timelines
* Prepare, present, and discuss objective assessments or other scientific papers at expert advisory groups
* Provide reliable, timely, and appropriate scientific and regulatory advice to companies
The Medical Assessor will also be expected to share knowledge and develop self and colleagues, contribute to policy and procedures, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Medicine with a relevant postgraduate qualification and registered with the General Medical Council
Experience
* Clinical, academic, or pharmaceutical medicine experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate team-working and consulting
* Evidence of an up-to-date specialist level knowledge in one or more relevant scientific areas
