Toco-ordinate outpatient activities at Cobham and Epsom Day Surgeries by liaisingwith consultants (and their secretaries and Trusts), radiographers, nurses, schedulersand facilities management.
Towork effectively as a member of clinical nursing team to ensure the provisionof the highest standard of patient and customer, accepting delegatedresponsibility for specific activities from Outpatient Manager.
Main duties of the job
To carry out clinical duties in accordance with unitpolicies and procedures ensuring effective running of clinics, minimisingwaiting times and auditing to ensure compliance with national standards
To carry out dressing changes as per Consultants preferenceand report and concerns
To provide nursing care without supervision, within thelevel of the post holders experience and competence
To undertake phlebotomy in a competent manner
To support clinicians in running clinics in a timely manner
To ensurehigh standard of infection control and the prevention of all avoidablehealthcare associated infections
Ensure relevant clinical skills are adequate and updated inaccordance with PREP and that they are developed in accordance with therequirements for the position held. Participate in mandatory staff training andtraining relevant to departmental role
Prepare and maintain clinical records in line with NMCstandards for records and record keeping
Providesupport and training to other members of staff, such as staff orientation andprocedures and equipment handling
Meet legal and statutory requirements, Health &Safety, COSH Regulations & Manual Handling
To ensure sound and effective working relationship andcommunication with all hospital staff and Consultants
To act as patients, advocate, ensuring privacy, dignity andconfidentiality are met.

Report to outpatient Manager any complaints, accidents,incidents & near misses bothverbally and in writing.

To participate in regular staff meetings, quality assuranceaudit and in the staff appraisal system
Any other duties deemed suitable by the manager asappropriate to the grade.
