Parenthood can be hard. It can be lonely and doesn’t come with a manual. Many families we work with face challenges such as hunger, grief, and anxiety, and often don’t know where to turn for support. Our volunteers are a lifeline to hundreds of families each year, offering one-to-one home visits and a wide range of support to ensure children have the best start in life.
Role Overview: Volunteering and Engagement Manager
We are seeking a proactive, forward-thinking change-maker to recruit and develop a diverse team of volunteers supporting families in Barnet, Brent, and Harrow.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to test new approaches to engaging with local communities and potential volunteers. You will understand the importance of positive messaging and branding, utilizing techniques such as social media to promote volunteering opportunities to different communities.
The successful candidate will be an inclusive and engaging communicator, capable of building supportive relationships with a diverse group of volunteers. Responsibilities include ensuring volunteers receive training, development, and supervision, maintaining high standards of practice, and promoting initiatives to increase volunteer retention, recognition, and rewards.
Work Environment
This position combines community engagement in Barnet, Brent, and Harrow with regular days in our office located in Finchley, Barnet.
