Charities Solicitor (1-6 years)
A leading Scottish firm is seeking a charities solicitor to join its well-established Edinburgh team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to specialise in charity and third-sector work while contributing to meaningful, high-impact projects.
The Opportunity
The team works with a wide range of charity and not-for-profit clients, from national organisations to philanthropic foundations and community groups. You will handle varied governance and regulatory matters, gain early client exposure and collaborate across corporate, private client and public law teams. This is a chance to develop deep sector expertise within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Drafting and updating charity constitutions and governance documents
* Preparing OSCR applications for new charities, mergers and reorganisations
* Advising on regulatory, compliance and governance issues
* Supporting trustees, senior leadership teams and philanthropic clients
* Contributing to business development and team initiatives
About You
You'll have 1-6 years' PQE with experience in charity law or transferable experience from corporate, private client or public law. A genuine interest in the third sector, strong communication skills and a client-centred approach are essential. You'll enjoy managing a varied workload and developing specialist knowledge.
