Senior Structural Design Engineer - Environment (Water)
Location: Solihull / Grangemouth (Scotland) / Nottingham (Annesley / Warrington / Bristol) / Other locations may be considered
What you will be doing:
As Senior Structural Design Engineer, you will be a key member of the Engineering Design Team, working with Principal Engineers, Design Teams, and Managers to deliver high-quality designs in compliance with GT processes, BMS, and H&S Regulations. This technical role requires expertise in the water and wastewater industry, with potential line management responsibilities.
You will provide technical guidance, contribute to engineering governance, ensure design integration, support procurement and site activities, and mentor early-career engineers.
In this role you will:
* Deliver structural design in water/wastewater projects
* Review schemes, produce reports, calculations, and drawings
* Undertake detailed design in reinforced concrete and steelwork
* Modify existing structural assets
* Mentor junior engineers
* Produce eco-friendly designs
* Support planning, cost estimation, and programming
* Assist with site visits and structural assessments
Specific Requirements:
* Extensive experience in relevant discipline
* Knowledge of reinforced concrete design for water/wastewater sector
* Experience with British Standards, Eurocodes, BS EN
* Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAADPro, Strand, TEKLA, TEDDS, etc.)
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Experience with structural assessments and client interaction
Other Requirements:
* Proven track record in water sector structures
* Knowledge of structural design principles and standards
* Experience in project supervision and team leadership
* Familiarity with NEC contracts and health & safety regulations
