This role supports the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors, helping maximise returns on budget and demonstrate value for money. You will also help set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long-term collaborative partnerships.
You will be part of the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team, providing country-wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community, championing effective governance and commercial assurance.
Joining us means developing strong internal and external relationships and becoming an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high-performing team.

Team and role context
We are the Commercial and Framework Management (CAFM) team, part of Portfolio Management, Assurance & Commercial (PMAC), supporting Programme and Contract Management Services to deliver sustainable outcomes and resilient communities through strong commercial risk management. You will be an integrated part of our national team and support local delivery hub leadership to achieve the most sustainable delivery outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Support the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Help set up and manage pathfinder programmes embedding best practice and developing long-term collaborative partnerships.
* Collaborate with the CAFM/PMAC teams to deliver value for money and ensure governance standards are met across projects.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build effective relationships.
Qualifications and Skills
* Essential: A-Level Qualifications, Level 3 Qualifications, or equivalent.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen with the ability to understand business situations, assess risks, and deliver value for money.
* Administrative skills including minute taking and drafting reports.
* Willingness to shadow and pursue long-term professional qualifications (e.g., NEC training, CIPS).
* Interest in infrastructure, construction, or environmental programmes.
Desirable and Professional Requirements
* Degree or equivalent qualification or experience; working towards status with a professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
* Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
* Ability to describe suitability and relevant skills in your application.
