This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting the company's products and services and building relationships with new and existing accounts. The main focus is to help Sysco customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company. This position may require working some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to meet customers' needs.
Responsibilities include:
1. Developing new business and penetrating existing accounts.
2. Minimizing lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and meet objectives within the assigned territory.
3. Seeking and qualifying prospects, researching customer needs, and developing product and service solutions.
4. Evaluating market trends, recommending products, and staying informed of competitors' offerings.
5. Answering customer questions about products, prices, and availability.
6. Providing product information and training to customer personnel.
7. Driving to customer accounts and meetings.
8. Managing deliveries, communicating, and collecting accounts receivable.
9. Participating in company functions and sales meetings.
10. Engaging in ongoing training and assisting with training new employees.
11. Reviewing sales reports, performing administrative duties, maintaining records, and preparing sales quotes and reports.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline, or HSD/GED with 3 years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications are bilingual ability and experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or culinary roles. A valid driver's license, clean record, and insurance are required. Candidates must submit to pre-employment testing and be willing to relocate within the territory.
Professional skills required include basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office. Key competencies include building trust, customer loyalty, follow-up, sales persuasiveness, work management, adaptability, and communication.
