1. To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage
2. To help to set up the play areas, including the outside space, ready for daily activities and to help tidy, pack away and clean at the end of each session.
3. To act as a key person, to a small group of children, liaising closely and working in partnership with parents/carers to ensure each child's needs are identified and met.
5. To advise the Playgroup Manager, SENCO or Deputy of any concerns e.g. about children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
6. To teach children and scaffold their learning, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
7. To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
8. To actively participate in team and planning meetings, supervision meetings and appraisals.
9. To attend training courses online or in person, as required and to take responsibility for your own professional development.
10. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, which is acquired as part of the job.
11. To be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s operational policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety, confidentiality, fire prevention and safety, dropping off and collection of children, food safety, cleanliness of the setting etc.
12. To assist in ensuring that children’s records are kept and updated regularly.
13. To assist with promoting the Playgroup to current parents and potential customers.
14. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Playgroup Manager, in accordance with the setting’s business plan/objectives.
