Assistant Area Head – Plumbing and Electrical Services

About the Role:
In this Band 2 role, you will deliver high-quality Electrical Installation education and/or Plumbing, guiding learners with your technical expertise and passion for the trade. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment in a modern, well-resourced environment reflecting real-world industry standards. You will also support the operational delivery of our Plumbing and Electrical programmes, helping manage staff and resources to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment. As part of the area’s management team, you will contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement, collaborating with colleagues to strengthen the department’s impact across the College. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or a qualified professional ready to share your knowledge, this is your chance to lead, inspire, and make a lasting difference in a thriving education environment.

Essential Qualifications:
* Qualified electrician to Level 3 or above in Electrical Installation/Maintenance or qualified plumber to Level 3 or above in Plumbing with a Gas Safe registration.
* Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics – GCSE grade 4+ or equivalent.
* Level 5 Teaching Qualification / open to completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.
* Assessor/Verifier Awards or willingness to achieve within six months of starting the position.
Essential Experience:
* Proven experience in leading teams or managing staff within an educational or professional setting.
* A strong background in training or teaching, with a proactive approach to curriculum development, course promotion, and marketing.
* Solid hands-on trade experience within electrical or related industries.
