We are working with our client, globally admired, recognised, and respected as the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. We are seeking a 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 (𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱) and who is fully qualified, to join their London team.


𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲:

This position will play a key part in supporting the Head of Corporate, Legal and the General Counsel. You will be responsible for providing high-quality finance and corporate legal and regulatory advice across senior management, committees, and a range of internal departments, as well as subsidiaries and overseas offices. The role offers exposure to complex, high-profile matters within a global marketplace, requiring a commercially focused approach and the ability to advise a diverse range of stakeholders.


𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴:

* Lead on legal strategy – Provide expert, strategic advice on a wide range of corporate, finance, transactional, and regulatory matters, identifying areas of highest risk and proposing and driving effective solutions that support strategic decision-making.
* Advise on complex legal issues – Deliver accurate, pragmatic, and timely risk-based guidance across membership, finance (including capital, investment management, and tax), and regulatory/compliance matters in both UK and international contexts.
* Manage legal risk – Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with global operations, developing innovative solutions to safeguard the business.
* Draft and negotiate with precision – Prepare clear, high-quality legal documents and negotiate agreements to minimise risk while protecting commercial interests.
* Collaborate across the business – Recognise when to involve other teams, ensuring advice is practical, aligned, and commercially focused.
* Drive change and innovation – Remain adaptable to evolving circumstances, challenge existing approaches, and seek opportunities for improvement.
* Engage with stakeholders – Communicate complex legal and business issues in an accessible way to senior management, committees, and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and informed decision-making.
* Plan and prioritise effectively – Balance multiple workstreams, ensuring deadlines are met and progress is communicated regularly to senior leaders.
* Manage external advisers – Instruct and oversee outside counsel and professional advisers where required, ensuring quality and value from external partnerships.


𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿:

* A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 - 6+ years’ PQE.
* Applications welcome from both private practice and in-house backgrounds.
* Strong expertise in banking/finance law, corporate law, contract law, trust law, and the UK regulatory framework for financial services.
* A solid appreciation of commercial and business issues, with the ability to apply legal knowledge in a practical, business-focused way.
* Proven track record of delivering risk-based legal advice across finance, corporate, and regulatory matters.
