Housing Officer – Social Housing
Location: West Midlands
Contract: 3–6 Months Temp (Strong Potential to Go Permanent)
Start Date: 5th January
Working Pattern: Hybrid (Home & Estate Visits)
We are supporting a leading Housing Association in the West Midlands who are looking to bring an experienced Housing Officer on board. This is a great opportunity for someone confident in tenancy management, resident engagement, and estate-based work who can hit the ground running in the new year.
Role Overview
As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality neighbourhood management service across a defined patch. You will work directly with residents to support tenancy sustainment, resolve tenancy-related issues, and maintain safe, well-managed communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a patch of general-needs properties
* Conduct tenancy sign-ups, visits, and reviews
* Handle low–medium level ASB, safeguarding concerns, and tenancy breaches
* Support residents with tenancy sustainment and early-intervention strategies
* Liaise with contractors, partner agencies, and internal teams
* Carry out estate inspections and ensure communal areas are maintained
* Prepare documentation and attend meetings when needed
About You
* Previous Housing Officer or Neighbourhood Officer experience (minimum 12–18 months)
* Strong knowledge of tenancy management, legislation, and housing best practice
* Confident lone-working and managing a varied workload
* Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
* Able to work effectively with vulnerable residents and external partners
* Able to start on 5th January without restrictions
