Ahead of the exciting opportunities that a new era of local government will bring at West Suffolk Council, we are looking for an efficient, motivated and solutions focused individual to join our Governance and Procurement Service as a Technical Support Officer, providing support to the Democratic Services team. In this varied role, you will join the Governance and Procurement Service and develop specialist administrative expertise, primarily within Democratic Services while also supporting the Elections team. You will work closely with colleagues to deliver specialised administrative support, including supporting arrangements for council meetings, maintaining intranet and website content, managing governance-related databases and helping to administer matters related to the Councillor Code of Conduct. You will also develop your knowledge in other areas and will be trained to become a proficient user of the system used by Democratic Services. What you will need You will bring excellent administrative, communication and IT skills to the role, along with proven experience of working with databases. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high levels of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail is essential. You will also be a highly motivated self‑starter with plenty of enthusiasm, able to work effectively as part of a team and willing to adopt a flexible approach to your work. You will have the enthusiasm, willingness and energy to learn and develop your knowledge in the services provided by the Governance Team and there may be the opportunity to develop your knowledge in other areas within the wider Governance service to develop resilience in a support function.
