About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our nursery. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, a sound understanding of early years practice, and a commitment to delivering high-quality childcare and education.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while also managing staff and engaging with parents.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the nursery team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's development and learning.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards.
* Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns.
* Manage daily operations, including staff scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
* Provide support and guidance to staff in their interactions with children, ensuring high-quality childcare practices are upheld.
* Organise training and professional development opportunities for team members.
* Oversee the maintenance of the nursery facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment for children.
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
* Enhanced DBS clearance and the right to work in the UK.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role within an early years setting.
* Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
* Proven experience of managing nursery operations and staff teams.
* Excellent knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding practices.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Paediatric First Aid (training can be provided if not already held).
* Knowledge of Makaton, BSL, or other communication tools.
* Experience in managing allergies and special dietary requirements.
* A valid driving licence.
Experience
* Proven experience in management or leadership roles within a childcare setting is essential.
* Strong background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
* Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment is required.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with staff, parents, and children.
