This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about mental health, emotional wellbeing, and supporting children and young people in an educational setting. The Role As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils in a school setting who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them to manage challenges and engage positively with learning. Key responsibilities include: Providing 1:1 and small-group mental health and emotional support within the classroom and wider school environment Supporting pupils experiencing anxiety, trauma, low mood, or emotional regulation difficulties Assisting teachers with behaviour management and classroom engagement Implementing support strategies set by the SENCO and external professionals Helping to create a safe, calm, and inclusive school environment The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about supporting mental health and wellbeing in schools Calm, patient, and empathetic Experienced working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, or mental health settings) Confident supporting students with SEMH needs Interested in a career in education, psychology, counselling, or mental health services This role is well suited to psychology graduates, aspiring therapists, or individuals with experience in education or support roles.
