* Location: Mostly working from home with 1-2 days a month in their Shropshire office

The Role
We’re looking for a Service Designer to join a consultancy delivering large-scale public sector programmes.
You’ll work on services used by millions across the UK, helping to design and improve end-to-end experiences across both digital and operational touchpoints. This is a role suited to someone who enjoys tackling complex problems and bringing structure to ambiguous environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead end-to-end service design from discovery through to delivery
* Map and improve user journeys and service experiences
* Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions with stakeholders
* Create artefacts such as service blueprints, journey maps, and roadmaps
* Use research and data insights to inform design decisions
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (tech, policy, research)
* Ensure services meet GDS / GOV.UK standards and accessibility requirements
What We’re Looking For
* Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience coaching and mentoring teams with strong leadership qualities
* Ability to structure and solve complex problems
* Strong communication skills - clear, concise, and impactful
* Solid understanding of user-centred design (UCD)
Nice to Have
* Experience in government / public sector (GDS)
* Exposure to AI, chatbots, or digital transformation programmes
* Consulting or client-facing experience
