Overview
Based at either the Townhouse, Montrose or Bruce House, Wellgate, Arbroath. These jobs are workstyle 5 Hybrid+.
You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.
Based at the Town House, Montrose, you will work as part of the waste strategy team, dealing with complaints and enquiries relating to household and commercial waste within Montrose, Brechin and the surrounding area. You will monitor areas for litter or other waste issues and will carry out enforcement action in relation to abandoned vehicles, flytipping, litter and dog fouling. You will liaise with commercial waste customers regarding the council’s commercial waste service. This job is permanent.
Based at Bruce House, Arbroath, you will work as part of the waste strategy team, dealing with complaints and enquiries relating to household and commercial waste within West Arbroath, Carnoustie and the surrounding area. You will monitor areas for litter or other waste issues and will carry out enforcement action in relation to abandoned vehicles, flytipping, litter and dog fouling. You will liaise with commercial waste customers regarding the council’s commercial waste service. This job is temporary for up to 23 months from date of appointment.
You will have an HNC or equivalent qualification and/or relevant experience in waste management. Excellent customer care skills are required, along with good organisational/time management and team working skills. Good IT skills (in particular the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) are essential, as are excellent oral and written communication skills and maintaining accurate records. The ability to work unsupervised and to use your initiative and make decisions, and work flexibly with a willingness to work outside/patrol areas on foot, are all essential. Knowledge of recycling and waste management would be an advantage. A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
