This role at Places For People, sits within our award-winning brand, Caterplus, one of the UK's leading catering services specialising in the care sector. As a Support Manager in a care home, you'll help lead front-of-house and care support operationsensuring a warm, professional environment for residents, families, and staff while upholding high standards of service, safety, and compliance.

What you'll be doing:
Supporting and coaching care assistants and front-of-house staff

Ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care services

Assisting with rota planning, shift coordination, and workload prioritisation

Welcoming and supporting residents, families, and visitors

Managing day-to-day communication, including handling the duty phone

Supporting with opening/closing procedures and ensuring the environment is safe and welcoming

Monitoring care supplies and equipment needs, raising issues proactively

Ensuring rooms and communal areas are prepared and maintained to high standards

Checking daily care routines and documentation for accuracy and completion

Maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and care regulations

Assisting in the smooth running of inspections and large-scale events

Delivering a compassionate, respectful presence during high-pressure situations

Working Pattern: 2 days out of 7 / 8 hours per week / 4 hour shifts

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families

Experience leading or supporting care teams with empathy and focus

Confidence in managing day-to-day operations and resolving issues

High attention to detail and commitment to upholding care standards

Ability to respond quickly and supportively to changes and emergencies

Passion for delivering respectful, person-centred care every day
