Duties and responsibilities for the Head Chef

Lead the kitchen team, ensuring service runs seamlessly, and dishes meet high standards.

Plan, develop, and cost menus, including seasonal dishes and special events.
*
Manage stock, control food costs, and reduce waste.
*
Coach, mentor, and develop your team to ensure a motivated and skilled kitchen brigade.
*
Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards, including allergen awareness.
*
Support events, promotions, and seasonal menu changes to drive business success.
Essential Requirements for the Head Chef
*
Proven experience in a senior kitchen role such as Head Chef or Sous Chef.
*
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
*
Commercially aware of experience managing costs, stock, and waste.
*
Organised, creative, and able to perform under pressure.
*
Knowledge of food safety and HACCP regulations.
*
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable requirements for the Head Chef
*
Food Safety Level 2 or 3, or willing to achieve.
*
Formal culinary qualification or equivalent experience.
*
Experience with private events and supplier management
