Post Doctoral Research Associate
Comparative Biomedical Sciences
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Post Doctoral Research Associate to join the Structure and Motion Laboratory, a multi-disciplinary research group investigating different aspects of animal structure and movement. The post holder will join Professor Richard Bomphrey’s research group to work on a project investigating mechanosensing in flies (Diptera). This post will focus on using detailed wing geometry models and free flight kinematic measurements in computational fluid and structural dynamics simulations to recover dynamic strain and flow fields.
Candidates should hold a PhD in a relevant biology or engineering discipline and be competent with numerical simulations. We are looking for a candidate with an interest in flight mechanics and sensory systems. The post will be based on site at our state-of-the-art laboratory, with some flexible working available by arrangement.
We offer a generous reward package and benefits including:
1. Competitive and attractive pension package
2. Generous 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and concessionary days) pro-rata
