Requirements
You will be qualified to Membership level of the Institute of Fire Engineers or have fire safety enforcement experience with a fire and rescue service and fire risk assessment accredited training, eg provided by the Institute of Fire Engineers, or similar.
Responsibilities
You will ensure Council compliance with fire safety legislation through the provision of fire risk assessments, fire safety advice and fire safety solutions.
The Individual
You will have experience in undertaking fire risk assessments and the production of action plans, comprehensive knowledge of fire safety, building standards and sector guidance from the Scottish Government and relevant British Standards, with currency of knowledge through Continued Professional Development. You will have the ability to deal with Health and Safety matters in particular with property, staff and clients, the ability to find solutions to Fire Safety problems, with particular reference to new legislation and with the ability to initiate, implement and maintain a programme of fire risk assessments and monitoring action plans and audits. You will have the ability to formulate Fire Safety Policies, critically review complex designs, plans and strategies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. You must be computer literate with experience of spreadsheets, MS Word, etc. You must have extensive property experience as well as Fire Safety competence with the ability to advise and liaise with all levels of management staff and client groups.
