Meiji America is a renowned leader in the food manufacturing industry, dedicated to producing high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers.We are seeking an experienced Regulatory & Compliance Manager. This role is responsible for compliance for labeling, raw materials & suppliers, complaints, related certifications, product project management, and corporate policy & procedure. Manage, coach, evaluate, and develop the Regulatory Specialist to optimize regulatory and supplier quality programs. Ensures full compliance with company policies and standards related to safety, quality and workplace conduct. Manages food safety & quality programs and processes for regulatory and customer compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform regulatory and compliance Product Project Management functions related to Labeling, Supplier Quality (FSVP, all new business, new product development initiatives, product changes, packaging modifications, etc.), and customer requirements for claims and related certifications.
* Liaison between Product Development, Corporate Engineering, Sales, and Plant Stakeholders (QA, Operations, Receiving, Distribution, Maintenance, and Sanitation) to ensure all regulatory and customer compliance requirements of product projects are managed via the established process.
* Coordinates the regulatory and compliance portion of product project management activities in Manufacturing Quality, Regulatory Adherence, and Supplier Quality Management.
* Lead, manage, coach, evaluate, and develop the Regulatory Specialist to optimize regulatory, customer quality, and supplier quality programs and requirements.
* Performs Supplier Audits, internal Food Safety & Quality audits, prepare & publish results, follow-up ensures RCA CAPA effectiveness.
* Identifies improvement opportunities and applies appropriate tools to improve bottom-line results and enhance the company’s competitive position.
* Support continuous improvement activities to improve plant compliance, business objectives, and waste reduction opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of food manufacturing and/or regulatory leadership experience.

* Oral/Written Communication – Speaks and writes clearly & persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens to get clarification; responds well to questions; able to read and interpret written information; able to speak publicly
Travel:
* Travel up to 15% for trials, projects, plant support, suppliers, customers, training, etc.
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor of Science degree in a related field (i.e. food science, agri-business, pre-law, biology, nutrition, animal science, bakery science, agriculture, etc.)
* Minimum of 5 years of food manufacturing and/or regulatory leadership experience.
* FDA and/or USDA food label creation experience, certificate, or education.
* PCQI and HACCP Certification (required)
* but not required: FSVP Certificated, ASQ Certifications (i.e. CQM, CQE, CQA), SQF Certified Practitioner, and/or continuing education courses in Internal Auditing, Safety, and Quality Improvement
* Cross-functional experience with a proven track record of delivering successful business results in the areas of safety, quality, and cost.
Computer Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems
