Overview
SRG is exclusively partnered with a leading manufacturer of personal care and cosmetic products, based in Glasgow. Due to company growth, they are now looking for a formulation specialist open to different levels of experience from mid to senior through to leadership and management. The role offers on‑going career development and growth, supporting a collaborative culture that values and invests in its people.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and work alongside the Technical Director in the day‑to‑day management and running of a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
* Lead the development and optimisation of personal care and cosmetic formulations from concept through to scale‑up and launch.
* Design and execute laboratory experiments, troubleshoot formulation issues, and interpret data to drive new and existing product performance in the market.
* Manage raw material selection and supplier engagement, including technical evaluation and review of new and existing products.
* Oversee stability, compatibility and performance testing; document results and make evidence‑based recommendations for reformulation.
* Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturing, quality, regulatory and commercial teams to ensure formulations meet specifications, compliance and consumer expectations.
* Provide technical leadership, mentoring and (where applicable) line management to junior formulators and lab staff.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of recent experience in formulation or development chemistry within the personal care, skincare and cosmetics industry.
* Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available for this role).
* Willing to relocate to or travel to the site in Glasgow five days a week.
* Full UK driving licence and own means of transport.
