Hamilton Barber Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well loved Charity to recruit a skilled Payroll Officer to join a values-driven, supportive People Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who wants to make a positive impact while working in a collaborative environment.
You will be part of a small, friendly team that works closely with both People Services and Finance colleagues. Flexible working from home and the office is supported, with regular team check-ins to ensure communication and support.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering accurate and timely monthly payroll for all staff, ensuring compliance with legislation, HMRC, and regulatory reporting
• Administering and processing three pension schemes
• Calculating and processing statutory pay entitlements and additional payments or benefits in line with policy
• Maintaining and improving the payroll system (Cascade) and associated processes
• Supporting staff and managers with payroll queries
• Assisting with audits, reporting, and process improvements
What we’re looking for:
• Strong previous experience in payroll
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good time management, flexibility, and the ability to meet deadlines
• A proactive approach, open to change and process improvement
• Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation
