Talent Acquisition Partner for Mitie, UK's leading Facilities Management (Via Hays)
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to work with a range of Mitie clients, performing maintenance and repair tasks, including fabric and basic electrical work of buildings as required under contract. The role involves ensuring all PPM and Reactive tasks meet legislative standards and that all paperwork is completed and submitted within deadlines.
You will carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, complete reports, and ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed on time, with correct certification and clear identification of remedial works. Additionally, as a Gas Engineer, you will handle reactive and emergency tasks, utilizing handheld technology effectively.
Candidates must be available for a call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support and assist team members as directed by a Supervisor or Contract Manager. A proactive approach to sourcing additional opportunities and works on-site is essential, along with monitoring subcontractors' work quality, health and safety compliance, and managing permits and small works.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines, with experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding on equipment such as boilers, ventilation systems, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, and lighting. Knowledge of health and safety practices is also required.
