Overview
We are looking for a dynamic thinker to support our Control Team in Stevenage. The role involves on the day overseeing and planning of patient journeys to and from home or healthcare settings using our cleric system and against set key performance indicators. It also involves pre‑planning patient journeys effectively using available resources.
Responsibilities
Responsibility for the control of PTS ambulance resources, including volunteer car service drivers for the current day, monitoring and making real‑time adjustments to optimise delivery and maintain an effective service and excellent standard of patient experience.
Forward plan patient transport, ensuring optimal use of available resources to maximise efficiency.
Monitor journey times, proactively rearranging journeys to support both the service and patient experience.
The role will work on a relief basis covering a range of shifts between 06:00 – 22:00 hrs, 7 days a week. A 9‑week rota in advance will be made available.
Requirements
Calm approach under pressure, geographical knowledge of West Essex, Hertfordshire and outlying areas, and strong customer service skills are essential.
Commit to completing a 3‑week training course, which will be located in various locations across the trust such as Epping and Chelmsford. Independent travel to these sites will be required.
Flexibility, reliability and the ability to work on relief shifts are essential.
Location
The workplace for this vacancy is at our Stevenage Ambulance Station. Applicants should live within 1 hour of this location.
