Specialist Physiotherapist
Band 6 - 36 hours - Permanent
St. John's Hospital
Job Purpose
To act independently to provide a full comprehensive specialist service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral and discharge to a complex range of patients referred to the service.
Responsibilities
* Supervise physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, clinical support workers and physiotherapy students.
* Deputise for the team lead in meetings related to specialist clinical area.
* Develop and deliver training programmes for a wide range of professionals and carers to educate carers and significant others in the understanding of both the therapy process and any intervention relating to the management of patients medical and social needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
* PVG Scheme membership/record required. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult) an application to Disclosure Scotland is required before beginning in post.
* Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. The appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme if assessed as a regulated role.
