Our Relief (Bank) Waking Nights roles are designed to offer genuine flexibility, without compromising on training, support or job satisfaction. No previous experience is required — we recruit for values. If you are calm, kind, reliable and respectful, we can teach you the rest. Why Relief Waking Nights? This role can work particularly well for: University students or mature students looking for night work around studies People working part-time who want additional flexible income Semi-retired individuals wanting meaningful, occasional work Parents or carers who are free overnight Anyone who naturally prefers working nights Relief hours mean: You choose when youre available Youre not tied to a fixed rota You receive the same training as permanent staff You can apply for permanent roles when the time is right for you Its flexible — but youre still very much part of the team. What does a Waking Nights Support Worker do ? Nights are about reassurance, safety and quiet support. Youll be a calm and steady presence while people sleep in their own homes. Your role may include: Completing regular wellbeing checks Offering reassurance if someone wakes during the night Supporting with personal care if needed Keeping accurate records Preparing the home for the morning shift For example, you might support someone like Daniel, who enjoys busy days out and needs a reassuring presence overnight so he feels safe and ready for the day ahead. Or someone like Aisha, who occasionally wakes and benefits from a warm drink and a calm chat before settling again. Working nights requires patience, attentiveness and reliability — but it can also be peaceful, focused and incredibly rewarding.
